Google is going to stop displaying ads on
right-hand side of the search results page on desktops/PC, say reports. The
tech giant has confirmed the development as well.
Instead of showing ads on the right-hand
side of the desktops/ PC’s, it will now display 4 ads on the top and few on the
bottom of the search results page.
According to a report on The Verge, the change was first reported by thesempost, and adds that the change will leave
Google’s sidebar free of ads for products.
In a statement to The
Verge, Google declared that they have been testing this layout for some
time, and added that this layout is “designed for highly commercial queries
where the layout is able to provide more relevant results for people searching
and better performance for advertisers.” The change will be global across
search in all languages.
